Defenders are one of the many roles players can take on in Pokemon Unite. This guide will show players the best Defenders to use in this game. When the beta released earlier this year, players had full access to every Pokemon that is planned to be available in the game. It is unknown how this will work in the final game but each Pokemon has its own role to fill. Attackers, Speedsters, All-Rounders, Defenders, and Support are the main roles in the game and each one must collaborate with one another in order to win the match. For fans of League of Legends, players will fit right at home. The Defender role is essential for collecting wins in the game. This guide will show players the best Defenders in the game.
Defenders are the characters that are meant to take the most hits throughout the game. These Pokemon have high endurance and excel at protecting allies and hindering opponents in battle. This is a perfect role for players who like to mess with the other team. Currently, in the game, only 4 Defenders are available to choose from, Snorlax, Crustle, Blastoise, and Slowbro. This guide will show players the best Defender to choose out of these 4.
The Best Defenders In Pokemon Unite
Out of Snorlax, Crustle, Blastoise, and Slowbro, Slowbro is the best option out of all of the Defenders. While this Pokemon doesn’t have the highest Endurance stat (this goes to Snorlax), it does make up for it with an additional Support stat. Slowbro also has a Ranged attack, making it easier to deal with incoming attacks. Although, Snorlax is the beefiest out of all the options. The issue is that Snorlax is fairly slow and will need to be close to the enemy for its melee attacks to land. Blastoise has the smallest Endurance stat and is a bit faster, but it also depends on melee attacks for its main method of doing damage.
Ultimately, with a game like Pokemon Unite, the metagame will continue to change as players get more time with the game. The beta was only for a limited time and the full release is scheduled to happen this July with no current release date. It can release at any moment and changes could have occurred to make any of the weaker Pokemon more viable. Pokemon Unite has the potential to be one of the biggest Pokemon titles out there if the support is provided.
Pokemon Unite is available in July 2021 on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.
