Just a few days after returning home from the hospital, Jeremy Renner took to Twitter to share a recovery photo and emotional message for the actor’s followers.

The Mayor of Kingstown star’s photo sees him working with a physical therapist as he begins his recovery from his Nevada home. Renner paired the image with a heartfelt message thanking fans for the continued outpour of love and support for his recovery and expressing confidence in the healing to come from his accident.

Everything We Know About Jeremy Renner’s Injury & Recovery

Word first broke of Renner’s accident on New Year’s Day, with the Hawkeye star being swiftly airlifted to the hospital and his family announcing a statement shortly thereafter offering further insight to his injuries, which included blunt chest trauma and other orthopedic injuries. Many of Renner’s MCU collaborators, some of which included Guardians of the Galaxy‘s James Gunn, Thor‘s Chris Hemsworth, Captain America alum Chris Evans and Secret Invasion star Cobie Smulders, swiftly took to social media to share their support of the star and hopes for him to make a quick recovery. Renner would later take to sharing some updates from the hospital, including a sweet impromptu spa day with his mom and sister, and praising the hospital staff on his birthday.

The biggest update came earlier this week when Renner revealed he had left the hospital and returned home just in time for the Mayor of Kingstown season 2 premiere on Paramount+, noting that while he was in a “brain fog” from his recovery surgeries, he was enjoying time with his family. Shortly thereafter, the streaming platform actually took to tweaking the marketing for the crime drama from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, electing to remove the wounds seen on Renner’s character’s face in the poster for the series out of respect for the actor’s real wounds. While season 1 garnered generally negative reviews from critics, Mayor of Kingstown season 2 has seen somewhat better reviews, a similar trend to the Kevin Costner-led Paramount Network series, which went from getting mixed reviews to scoring much acclaim.

While Jeremy Renner‘s recovery post is sure to bring comfort regarding the actor’s recovery, it is important to note his reveal of the extent of his wounds, as he will be healing from “30-plus broken bones.” However, with some early reports expressing doubts of his retaining the use of his limbs, and Renner’s own confidence in being able to heal from his injuries, this large number shouldn’t prove too concerning. Fans of Renner will have to keep their eyes peeled for further updates from the actor on his recovery.
