Pokemon Go will be receiving a substantial update in the month of December. Not only will players be treated to new Pokemon from Pokemon X and Y, but the level cap will be raised from level 4o to level 50, offering new challenges for players to complete with each new level. As the mainline titles are currently on the eighth generation, it’s only a matter of time before Pokemon Go catches up in the amount of Pokemon. Chesnaught is one of the fan-favorite Pokemon to come out of Kalos. Here’s how players can locate and capture it.
Chesnaught is the final evolution of the Grass-type starter Pokemon, Chespin. At the beginning of every Pokemon journey, players are given the choice between one of three Pokemon. This selection will stick with them until the very end and will be the Pokemon the player builds the strongest bond with on their journey. In Pokemon Go, the first wave of Kalos Pokemon will be making their appearance in the game. Considering Kalos only comes with about 70+ new Pokemon outside of Mega Evolution, it is likely this generation will be rolled out in smaller chunks. Here’s how players can capture Chesnaught.
How To Find (& Catch) Chesnaught In Pokemon Go
Starting on December 2nd, players will be able to find the first 17 Kalos Pokemon available in the game. To get a Chesnaught, the player will first need to find a Chespin and give it enough candy to evolve. From December 2nd to December 8th, the Kalos Pokemon will spawn much more frequently to premier their debut. This is the best way to find a Chespin early on. It can be found in the wild or within eggs. Here’s how players can get their own Chesnaught.
- Chespin: Found in the wild or from hatching eggs.
- Quailladin: Give Chespin 25 Candy.
- Chesnaught: Give Quailladin 100 Candy.
To get more candy, either use a Pinap Berry when catching a Chespin or setting a Chespin as your buddy when walking around.
Pokemon Go will continue to add more Pokemon from Kalos in a future patch. Other fan-favorites like Heliolisk and Tyrantrum will make their debut in the game in the near future. It will be interesting to see how Niantic handles releasing more Pokemon in the future when it catches it to the main series. Only two generations remain to fill that gap.
