Game of Thrones’ Samwell actor addresses the chance of a long-rumored Jon Snow spin-off series, and the possibility of his character appearing in it.
Game of Thrones star John Bradley has discussed a possible reunion with actor Kit Harington in the rumored Jon Snow spin-off show. Bradley played the role of fan favorite Samwell Tarley in the hit HBO fantasy show, which ran for eight seasons, between 2011 and 2019. The show was a huge hit, and, since it ended, has spawned the spinoff prequel House of the Dragon, which has proven to be another success for HBO. There have long been rumors of a Jon Snow spinoff too, but nothing concrete has materialized since news of the spin-off was first circulated in 2021.

In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Bradley was discussing his upcoming Netflix show 3 Body Problem, when he was asked which event he thought was more likely, definitive proof of alien life, or a reunion between Sam and Jon. The actor was understandably noncommittal in his response, but Bradley did not rule out the chance of appearing in the spinoff, and was quoted as saying “…it depends what you want more. What would you prefer? I am at your service.” Read Bradley’s full comments below:

Well, one of those things is more in my own hands than the other, I should say. But it depends what you want more. What would you prefer? I am at your service. What would you prefer? I think one thing can’t be any more impossible than anything else. It’s either impossible or it isn’t though … The distance between possible and impossible is massive.
Will A Jon Snow Spinoff Show Happen?
Not much has been revealed about the likelihood of the spinoff since the announcement, though fellow Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke confirmed in an interview that Harington will reprise his role in any Jon Snow spinoff. The success of House of the Dragon has shown that there is very much still an interest in the world of Westeros, and Harington is seemingly keen to revisit Snow again, which is positive for the long-term chances of the show coming to fruition. With the working title Snow, the spinoff seemingly has the blessing of George R.R. Martin.
There are bound to be plenty of Game of Thrones characters fans will want to appear in the Snow sequel, but it would all depend on how they can fit into the story, as well as the availability of the actors involved. The show ended with Snow choosing a life of exile beyond The Wall, after killing aunt and lover Daenerys Targaryen, and any potential spinoff would likely focus on his life with the Wildlings, as well as continuing his character’s post-Westeros arc. HBO seems keen, but CEO Casey Bloys ruled out the possibility of the show happening anytime soon.
Whether or not it gets off the ground will depend a lot on the schedules involved, with Harington having just wrapped filming for Industry season 3, and the movie Eternal Return. His future projects would also have to align with the spinoff’s plans, and the chances of Bradley appearing would have to fall under a similar purview. Game of Thrones fans can take comfort in the fact there seems to be genuine interest in a Jon Snow spinoff, but it feels unlikely that such a project should materialize any time in the next year or two.
